	Steve Rowe Having worked in Consumer Protection in the UK for many years for a Government Department (Surrey Trading Standards), and having travelled extensively I have experienced sharp practice in the tourist industry both personally and professionally. My passion for a fair deal and ethical sustainable tourism is what 5x5 Tours is all about. These ideals are shared by our suppliers and partners and have enabled us to build lasting relationships with them whilst maintaining excellent standards. We fell in love with the country when on honeymoon. Having made substantial contacts over the years and seeing the real progress the country was making following Apartheid we decided to take our 2 young children to live in a beautiful district of Cape Town called Noordhoek. My wife and I are keen to put something back into the country that has become our home and that is why, in line with our ideals, we always encourage our customers to go on a Township Tours which are really inspirational and very different from what you might imagine. These tours benefit the community as a whole and not just the operator.
	Sue Cheesman When my daughter Vicky announced that she & Steve would be migrating to Cape Town South Africa it came as quite a shock. However, when we started to formalise the business I was excited by the opportunity of running the UK base for a family company focused on ethical tourism. The business model we use means everyone benefits, from our customers (See How We Work) to the people we are able to employ and SA economy. Our main aim is to ensure our customers have a great time and that we continue to source great value services and activities for our customers.
	Vicky Rowe We met our partner Barbara whilst on honeymoon many years ago who was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, funny and very generous. We were delighted that Barbara agreed to join us giving us a huge wealth of knowledge in the South African tourist industry formed over 30 years. We really want to ensure all of customers have a great time and know that word of mouth is the most powerful advertising going. This is why we offer such a personalised service so you can get to know us and likewise us you. We believe that relationships are key to everything and being able to introduce you to the people with whom we have built relationships will hopefully make a lasting impression on you.
	Barbara McMinn As Vicky has mentioned I have been in the tourism industry for the last 30 years (thank you for reminding me Vicky!) working in many destinations around the country. When we all discussed the places that people should visit I was very keen that certain places were included. Route 62 for example from Montagu to George is the most beautiful drive and lots of little interesting places to stop off at. We recognise that people only have a limited time to travel and generally do not want to be driven or drive at break neck speed in order to say they have seen South Africa. That is why we have focused on some of the most beautiful spots in SA all in an achievable distance and 5 activity headings that give you a flavour of what is available. We have suggested several itineraries but the beauty is you decide and we will guide! The activity range in the areas we are focusing on is huge with safari always being popular, but with a son who is currently ranked as the number 3 golfer in SA at U/16’s level it is obvious where I spend a lot of my time. South Africa still has a high unemployment rate and by attracting visitors overseas you will be helping to strengthen our economy. All South Africans appreciate we still have problems (not helped by some negative publicity) but things are improving all the time and we can offer a true South African experience where you will meet South Africans and many other nationalities which make up our society.
